Supply Chain Intern

Tenneco is seeking a driven, self-motivated Supply Chain focused student who has an interest in gaining hands-on experience.

The Tenneco student program provides a unique opportunity for students to learn, work, and contribute in an industry leading environment. As an intern working at Tenneco, you will be an active member on your team. In addition to being assigned real projects that deliver results, students also participate in networking events, personal development training, and community service opportunities, among other activities that show you what Life at Tenneco is all about!

This position supports Global Supply Chain Operations for Tenneco and will either be remote or onsite in our various facilities. This is a summer internship with the potential to extend.

Possible responsibilities include:

  • Supply chain best practice process documentation and standardization & business socialization
  • Supply chain process flowchart documentation & business socialization
  • Support the specific planning/manufacturing teams with planning/scheduling analyst work
  • Coverage for planner/manufacturing tasks & responsibilities to cover vacations
  • Process improvement initiatives for supply replenishment methodologies & inventory planning

Required of an Intern:

  • Must be able to work independently and in a team based environment
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship period May - August 2023
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's in supply chain, supply chain management, or engineering (with a focus in supply chain or supply chain management) from an accredited institution
  • Student with MRP knowledge and/or hands-on experience
  • Student with prior internship experience in operations, supply chain or purchasing role
