What you will do

Under general direction, is responsible for delivering profitable sales volume through assigned National Account customers to meet the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives. Develops and implements activities and strategies to continually increase top line revenue, maximize margins and increase market share for the Ducted Products National Accounts Team. Works and coordinates with all JCI business units to maximize shareholder return and long-term profitability of the overall business.

How you will do it

  • Creatively develop strategy to penetrate underserved industry segments in residential and commercial National Account space
  • Guide team members on how to meet/exceed revenue and margin plans for targeted segments
  • Ability to work cross functionally with marketing, pricing, supply chain and products teams to ensure each group is engaged in strategy for new segments
  • Produce accurate forecasts for both existing and new business opportunities.
  • Drive account management principles and assess potential customers and opportunities.
  • Include member(s) of the management team to "touch" principles of key and targeted customers to move the sales process forward most efficiently.
  • Identify key partners needed to support national accounts business, and create win-win for the channel and national account partners
  • Increase market penetration by securing new customers and expanding the scope of the existing customer base. Manages qualifications and assessing potential customers and opportunities. Ensures the development and maintenance of Account Plans with all key and target accounts.
  • Use data, information systems, and metrics around financials to maximize market share, sales, and profits.
  • Link customer objectives to product solutions delivering a total value offering that creates a competitive advantage. Differentiates and leverages Johnson Controls product offerings from competitors based on the total benefit of doing business with Johnson Controls.
  • Create partnering opportunities with customer principles responsible for the decision making process. Actively listens, probes and identifies concerns. Understands customer's business and speaks their language. Develops credibility, loyalty, trust and commitment. Manages ongoing sales process and responds to and anticipates customer needs.
  • Analyzes the market and current business performance and develops sales strategies consistent with the Johnson Controls, Inc. mission and objectives. Understands the current business environment including competition, purchasing and business trends.
  • Participates with Product Management and Engineering teams by providing customer feedback on products and features as well as competitive information.
  • Completes expected training requirements and demonstrates the capability of selling the full scope of bundled offerings available.
  • Actively involved in key industry associations (ASHRAE, NAHB, SPECS, PRSM groups, etc.)
  • Drive account management principles and assess potential customers and opportunities.
  • Increase market penetration by securing new customers and expanding the scope of the existing customer base. Manages qualifications and assessing potential customers and opportunities. Ensures the development and maintenance of Account Plans with all key and target accounts.
  • Analyzes the market and current business performance and develops sales strategies consistent with the Building Efficiency mission and objectives. Understands the current business environment including competition, purchasing and business trends.

What you will need

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Eight years of progressive sales experience in building systems, products and/or services.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent team and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
