DSP Characterization Engineer
Job Description
About us:
Aevaβs mission is to bring the next wave of perception to a broad range of applications from automated driving to industrial robotics, consumer electronics, consumer health, security, and beyond. Aeva is transforming autonomy with its groundbreaking sensing and perception technology that integrates all key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip in a compact module. Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors uniquely detect instant velocity in addition to 3D position, allowing autonomous devices like vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a DSP engineer with a focus on characterizing the performance of signal processing algorithms in production as well as simulation platforms.
What you'll do:
- Design and develop test frameworks for characterizing performance of DSP algorithms and help bridge performance gap between simulation platforms and real systems
- Automate system test and calibration procedures
- Be involved in all stages of algorithm development including data collection, analysis, development and test
- Participate in the teamβs development processes, including: requirements and design documentation, test-plan generation and execution, peer design and code reviews, process feedback and improvements
What you have:
- 2+ years of experience in Python development
- 2+ years of working on signal processing algorithms for different applications
- Good fundamentals in signal processing, probability theory, mathematics and excellent problem solving skills
- Bachelor degree with 2+ years of industry experience working on signal processing applications or a masters degree with a focus on signal processing or communication systems
- Experience with quantitative data analysis and simulation software (python or Matlab)
- Willingness to learn, ability to communicate well and demonstrate healthy drive and energy to understand and solve complex system level problems
Nice to have:
- Experience working on hardware systems to characterize performance
- Knowledge of advanced signal processing algorithms for radar/lidar/communication systems
- Experience working on point cloud processing and filtering
What's in it for you:
- Be part of a fast paced and dynamic team
