Marqeta is looking for a Risk Analyst, to join our Due Diligence team. The Risk Analyst member is responsible for completing initial and ongoing due diligence reviews of customer, third-party vendors, and ongoing risk assessments in accordance with Marqeta’s Customer and Third-Party Vendor Due Diligence Programs.

You will work with some of the world’s most innovative companies as they partner with Marqeta to bring their payments business ideas to life.  You will develop deep relationships within Marqeta to ensure we are doing all we can to get our customers what they need quickly, predictably, and reliably. You will resolve challenges and work through changes and escalations. You will watch for potential risks and have mitigation plans in place to handle unexpected events as we push to the finish line. You’ll communicate often and openly. You’ll be comfortable in a technical environment - our products are pretty technical, so you should be too.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with internal business units and external parties to gather information in order to perform initial customer due diligence reviews and conduct risk ratings.
  • Partner with internal business units and external parties to perform ongoing customer due diligence reviews and ongoing customer risk ratings.
  • Partner with all of the internal business units to analyze potential new third-party vendors and perform risk assessments.
  • Partner with those internal business units to perform ongoing risk assessments of Marqeta’s third-party vendors.
  • Coordinate with Marqeta’s Issuing Banks in the U.S., Canada, UK and Europe to ensure that Marqeta is compliant with each Bank’s requirements for Customer and Third-Party Vendor Due Diligence.
  • Coordinate the gathering of documents and answers for all internal audits, Issuing Bank audits, and regulatory examination requests related to Customer and Third-Party Vendor Due Diligence.
  • Perform quality control reviews of Due Diligence related procedures and processes enterprise wide.
  • Manage projects related to Marqeta’s Customer and Third-Party Vendor Due Diligence programs.

What We’re Looking For 

  • 3 years’ experience in the Financial Industry focused on Compliance and/or Risk
  • Proven ability to implement, execute, and improve efficient and effective Due Diligence procedures and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through cross-functional and virtual teams
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly motivated and able to work against aggressive schedules
  • Superior communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written)
  • Positive attitude, team player, adaptable, resourceful, and self-starter who is able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Must be customer focused to ensure a smooth due diligence process throughout our customer’s journey.
  • Undergraduate level degree in STEM or business, finance or economics
  • Knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and card payment network requiremen
