As a Dynamics 365 (D365) Developer at Octo you will be a part of the Center of Excellence for the Power Platform & D365 for the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role will report to Octo’s Microsoft Practice Leader and provides technical guidance and execution on technology decisions with the various delivery teams. This includes directing evaluating and monitoring the progress of product development and facilitating discussions with various stakeholders and system integrators around business objectives functionality architecture and product deployment.

Program Mission…
The Digital Transformation Center (DTC) supports Veterans Affairs (VA) with onboarding and maintaining enterprise SaaS and PaaS solutions used to support the mission of serving our Veterans and their associated stakeholders. We are digitizing information and processes for improved implementation leveraging modern tools and low code/no code for reusability and faster delivery.
Responsibilities…
- Contribute across all phases of the software development life cycle with particular focus on release and platform governance.
- Plan coordinate and execute CRM releases including updates enhancements and new features.
- Manage release timelines and ensure on-time delivery.
- Experience and comprehensive understanding of application registrations certificates and secrets in the D365 CRM platform.
- Conduct testing and quality assurance to validate CRM changes.
- Monitor post-release performance and address any issues that may arise.
- Contribute to the establishment and enforce governance policies standards and best practices for CRM development.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure CRM data protection and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct regular audits to assess CRM system adherence to governance guidelines.
- Mitigate risks and address non-compliance issues promptly.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency within the CRM system.
- Create and maintain documentation related to release processes governance policies and customizations.
- Stay up-to-date with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM updates industry best practices and the gaps between commercial and government features and capabilities.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within CRM development and governance.
- Partner with cross-function technology and design teams to ensure consistent positive client interaction and solution delivery.
- Ensure all related applications and tools are understood and properly reflected in solution design documentation.
Years of Experience: 5+ years of Microsoft Power Platform or Dynamics 365 CRM development experience OR a comparable alternative that can be agreed upon.
Education: BA/BS degree in a computer discipline or equivalent applicable experience
Location: Remote within the United States.
Clearance: Ability to obtain government clearance.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5+ years hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Power Apps and Power Platform technical solutions.
- Strong understanding of CRM system architecture configurations customizations and development.
- Core Skills: C# SQL .NET Power Apps Dynamics CRM Microsoft DataVerse (CDS) Power Automate.
- Familiarity with Agile project management and sprint planning.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on cross-functional teams.
- Highly skilled in interpersonal and verbal/written communications presentations math analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of relational database concepts.
- Experience in OOTB features and functionality and the ability to articulate recommendations where OOTB should be used that aligns to a “code last” philosophy.
- Will be proactive in staying up to date on the latest updates to the D365/Power Platform as well as future roadmap features announced in Microsoft’s wave plans.
- Knowledge of CRM governance principles data security and compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM certifications (e.g. MB-230 MB-400) are a plus.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain government clearance.
