The E-FORGE systems engineering lead will be responsible for leading the Aerospace effort to help define the acquisition strategy and technical baseline for E-FORGE, a next generation ground system under the development purview of the Space-Sensing Delta within Space Systems Command (SSC). As counterpart to the E-FORGE Chief Engineer, you will provide both technical and programmatic leadership to ensure the near-term E-FORGE acquisition approach is technically sound and aligned with a broader and evolving enterprise architecture.
Telecommuting is possible 1-2 days per week depending on the needs of the mission and customer.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Deliver technical expertise to the SSC's E-FORGE program manager and geographically separated staff
  • Manage Aerospace support to the E-FORGE technical baseline development including requirements, CONOPS, and acquisition strategy
  • Interact regularly with government customer leaders, SETA contractors, multiple development contractors, and other collaborators across the Missile Warning/Tracking Survivable/Endurable community to align ground system architecture, development and CONOPS with operational needs
  • Establish and lead Aerospace ETG teams toward providing our customer with objective, data driven assessments
  • Provide independent technical perspective to help identify key areas of program risk and opportunity
  • Quickly assess risk, schedule, and cost trades to enable adaptable delivery of ground system capabilities, while meeting mission objectives
  • Generate periodic written reports and presentations to customer and Aerospace management

What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Leader
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or an appropriate technical subject area
  • Minimum of 12 years of related engineering/scientific experience with > 10 years of experience in acquisition planning, analysis, and development of national security space systems
  • Track record of optimally and innovatively working in multidisciplinary teams to develop and field ground systems
  • Solid understanding of ground systems and Survivable/Endurable elements, to include development, operations, data processing and command and control capabilities
  • Ability to assess and integrate ground system design elements relating to Command & Control, Mission Management, Mission Data Processing, Data Fusion, Cybersecurity and Operations Facilities Integration for compliance with required MW/MT S/E capabilities
  • Collaboration skills to build effective links with Government customers and other partners to dynamically deliver outstanding products under tight timeframes
  • Active Top Secret / SCI clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to acquire a security clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
