Studs is an experiential retail and e-commerce brand that has re-imagined the ear piercing experience by offering consultative and expert needle piercing services, combined with a wide assortment of accessibly priced, on-trend earrings.

Based in New York City, the East Regional Manager will report to the Director of Studios and Talent. You will be accountable for the Studios’ success in the three pillars of the Retail organization: Revenue, Operations, and Talent. The Regional Manager will serve as a people leader supporting Studs’ mission and purpose by championing the brand’s core values: We’re All in This Together, We’re All Ears, and We’re Always Growing. This role will manage a combination of Area Managers, Multi-Site Studio Managers, and Studio Managers within their region. 

Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000, plus equity

Key Responsibilities:

REVENUE 

Financial Acumen

  • Analyzes business reporting to identify opportunities in key business metrics and communicates them effectively to cross functional partners, Director of Studios and Talent, and direct reports
  • Develops their direct reports’ understanding of key business metrics and reporting to cascade to their Studio teams
  • Sets strategies and aligns the Studio teams to continually improve key business metrics to achieve sales plan

Drives Results

  • Accountable for Studios’ overall performance in the region
  • Creates a performance-oriented culture by setting clear expectations and targets for their direct reports
  • Develops short and long-term sales strategies by looking ahead at targets, key business metrics, and revenue drivers

Customer Focus

  • Partners with their direct reports to foster an in-store experience that welcomes and educates clients to the unique Studs’ piercing and shopping experience through our selling cycle; serves as an inspirational leader by modeling strong service and selling behavior at all times in the Studio
  • Creates training materials and modules to enhance Studio teams behaviors and best practices
  • Identifies client feedback and strategizes opportunities to improve the overall Studios’ experience to build a loyal repeat client base, positive satisfaction survey results, and reviews

OPERATIONS 

Optimizes Work Processes

  • Always curious and questioning performance and processes to improve and progress output of the Studios 
  • Creates strategic assessments and recommendations that will impact the team to optimize efficiency and efficacy 
  • Drives the process to produce new Studio openings with the partnership of cross functional teams 

Decision Quality

  • Cascades communication from HQ to their direct reports to ensure accountability of comprehension and retention
  • Balances analysis, experience, and integrity when making decisions for the overall business
  • Empowers their direct reports to act like owners and make smart business decisions

Ensures Accountability

  • Tracks and updates regional P&L to find opportunities for cost savings and profit driving 
  • Ensures inventory control and loss prevention measures with partnership from Operations
  • Upholds brand consistency and standards in each Studio within the region
  • Be well-versed in the piercing operating procedures to ensure client experience, work safety, and record keeping standards are met 

TALENT 

Builds and Develops Effective Teams

  • Creates a sense of belonging and strong team morale through trust and collaboration
  • Owns the two-way feedback loop by acting as a liaison between HQ and Studs’ Studios
  • Effectively manage Studs Studios in your region through touch bases, developmental plans, and in-person visits
  • Owns recruiting and ensures successful onboarding and continued development of Area Managers, Multi-Site Studio Managers, and Studio Managers

  • Ensures the teams are accountable to company policies and standard operating procedures
  • Admits mistakes and is not afraid to escalate when help is needed

  • Fosters connection and trust through diversity and inclusion for all Studio teams
  • Provides prompt coaching and feedback with clear actionables to navigate performance and change management with their direct report and Studio teams at large
  • Assist their direct reports in navigating employee relations thoughtfully and timely with cross-functional partnership

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of comparable District or Regional level experience across a similar geography required; experience with jewelry, piercing, service or hospitality based business is a plus
  • Ability to work full-time with open availability to support the needs of a high growth emerging brand
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
  • 75% travel required

  • Owner’s mindset, with the ability to approach feedback and problems with a positive attitude
  • Manages ambiguity and proven success in prioritization in a high growth environment
