Your role:
The ECLS Subsystem Manager - Air Revitalization System will join our team with ERC, a JETS teammate company.
What you'll do all day:
Be a Subsystem Manager for the International Space Station (ISS) ECLS System including the following:
- ISS Air
Revitalization Systems (ARS), including but not limited to:
- Carbon Dioxide Removal Assembly (CDRA)
- Major Constituent Analyzer (MCA)
- Trace Contaminant Control Subsystem (TCCS)
- Sample Delivery System (SDS)
- Lithium Hydroxide (LiOH) Canisters
- Carbon Dioxide Removal Kit (CRK)
- Thermal Amine Scrubber (TAS)
- Four Bed Carbon Dioxide Scrubber (FBCO2)
- Carbon Dioxide Adlink (CDA) Sensors
ISS ECLS Interface:
- Carbon Dioxide Removal Technical Interchange Meeting (CO2 Removal TIM)
- Operational CO2 Working Group (CO2WG)
- Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Air Sensors (CMACS)
- Crew Alternative Sleeping Accommodation (CASA) (CO2 expert)
- Primary interfaces will include Boeing, ISS Engineering, ISS Human Health and Performance, ISS Program, and ISS Safety focals.
- Assume full oversight responsibility (under the direction of the NASA ECLS System Manager) for all engineering and operations decisions for the ARS related topics.
- Work closely with ISS Program Vehicle Office Integrator, Boeing contractor team, and other organizations to manage tasks and technical risks.
- Support real time system operations, including periodic support in the ISS Mission Evaluation Room (MER).
- Support problem/failure resolution activities.
- Handle communications between various hardware providers and sustaining organizations.
- Take point in exchanging information with a wide range of stakeholders including the ISS Program, JSC Engineering, Vehicle Office, Collins Aerospace, Boeing, and Marshall Space Flight Center.
- Some travel required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the ISS ECLS System Manager.

Minimum requirements for this position:
This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
- BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and ten (10) years of direct engineering experience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and eight (8) years of direct engineering experience, or Ph.D. and four (4) years of direct engineering experience.
- A working knowledge of mechanical, fluid, and pressure-based systems.
Desired skills and experience for this position:
- Have an understanding/exposure to ISS ECLS functions and related hardware.
- A working knowledge of, and experience with, Space Vehicle flight operations and documentation.
- Knowledge of hardware certification and flight processes.
- Be familiar with major atmospheric constituents and trace atmospheric contaminants, associated risks to humans and hardware, and how those gases interact within a zero-g system.
- Prior knowledge and experience with atmospheric sensing and scrubbing.
- Be familiar with system/subsystem management roles.
- Be able to coordinate across multiple organizations.
- Be familiar with the functions of the ISS Program boards and technical forums and able to develop and clearly communicate information to those ISS Program boards and technical forums.
