ABOUT THE POSITION

The E-Commerce Copywriter II works closely with the Creative Manager, Senior Copywriter, and copy team to create and evolve Columbia brand messaging across columbia.com, email, SEO, UX, social, and omni-channel initiatives. This position focuses on evolving the customer experience by crafting compelling copy that inspires brand loyalty, promotes products, and motivates customers to act. The E-Commerce Copywriter II collaborates with Designers, Site Managers, Merchants, Marketing, and Brand partners to achieve business requirements, develop workflow tools, and deliver innovative messaging that increases engagement, conversion, and customer satisfaction. This position presents and explains the creative thinking behind the work.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Writes engaging and accurate copy with an understanding of brand voice, promotions, AP Style, and SEO principles.
  • Develops and maintains style guides to align content with best practices and brand standards.
  • Crafts clear, concise, conversational messages that promote product features, benefits, and technologies.
  • Supports research of business needs and industry trends along with leveraging user testing to help write customer-focused copy that enhances the user experience.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

YOU ARE

  • Able to develop creative ideas that work across channels.
  • Aware and knowledgeable of social media trends.
  • Experienced at creating digital content.
  • An excellent communicator with skills to establish positive working relationships across various levels and fields of expertise.

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree, applicable certification, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in a Copywriting function.
  • Product or Agency experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience creating digital, print, video content.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and leadership.
  • Experience mentoring and leading project teams.
  • Ability to develop creative ideas that work across all channels.
  • Ability to distill complex ideas into simple, clear and resonant expression.
  • Ability to problem-solve, working through the corporate matrix.
  • A Portfolio highlighting your writing and work.
