Job Description

As an eCommerce front end developer, you will be expected to contribute towards the overall growth (revenue, stability, performance) of our commerce website. We are looking for innovative thinkers to create solutions that drive customer retention and satisfaction. You are expected to have strong overall development skills to be able to not just solve challenges put before you, but also in a manner that adheres to best practices in coding. We are looking for someone who is both a producer of quality work but also is looking for opportunities to grow and guide your colleagues.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

• Understand business requirements and their translation into its applicable code

• Active participant in team refinement sessions who has the knowledge and confidence to ask relevant business and technical questions

• Ability to work in a collaborative environment with other developers on a team to help each other find solutions

• Strong collaborator with your technical product owner and technical lead, especially when identifying potential issues with implementations

• Interested in taking on new and difficult tasks that may require learning new skills or reviewing relevant technologies

• Diligent attention to detail with all deliverable work that includes passing of unit testing and performance standards

• Willingness to be able to juggle multiple tasks/responsibilities at the same time and be able to pivot quickly if prioritization changes

Desired Background/Knowledge/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred but relevant job experience is most important

• At least 3 years of experience as a front-end developer working as implementation partner or with a company who has an eCommerce business presence; lesser experienced candidates may be considered with demonstration of previous work and/or initiative

• Must have experience with front end web technologies such as JavaScript (React, Knockout), HTML and CSS

• Experience with eCommerce platforms a plus

• Experience with web API services (REST/XML/JSON)

• Understanding of code merging (Git/Bitbucket) processes and quality gates (Sonarqube)

• Experience with implementing functionality on web applications such as Oracle Commerce Cloud (OCC), Oracle ATG or similar technology is desired.

• Experience in developing applications with JavaScript (React, Knockout), HTML and CSS preferred

• Functional understanding of commerce design best practices, with the skills to translate UI/UX design into a working product

• Work experience with REST APIs is desired

• Experience with integrated Oracle applications such as Oracle CPQ and Oracle E-Business Suite/ERP a major plus

• Working knowledge of agile methodologies, change management, code quality and reviews

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of frontend technologies experience

• OR Master's degree with 1+ years of experience with frontend technologies experience

• OR 5+ years of frontend technologies experience
