POSITION SUMMARY:

The Economic Justice Advisory Board (EJAB) is a philanthropic group of industry leaders interested in improving the economic well-being of the patient population of Boston Medical Center and the community at-large. The EJAB Manager will lead this group through engagement and relationships management. The Ideal candidate excels at community relationship building and organizing, enjoys working with people and has strong planning, meeting facilitation, organizational and communication skills. The Manager is the primary point of contact to manage the activities of the group which includes engagement, retention, meeting convening/planning, and all front-line operations. This individual will work with a variety of teams to coordinate and collaborate on how to best activate and utilize the resources and relationships of the EJAB.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Working in collaboration with development officials and eventually community affairs officials to create a well-rounded industry group that will aid in the growth and spread of BMC's economic interventions.

  • Collaborate with Development to recruit and continue to build corporate advisory group.
  • Lead EJAB with daily operations and projects, including providing regular outreach, communication, and assistance to members.
  • Responsible for on boarding all new members.
  • Coordinate with Development team on building pipeline of prospective additions and outreach to new prospects.
  • Maintain an understanding of the economic mobility environment and a broad knowledge of corporate social responsibility and ESG programs in financial institutions.
  • Work closely with the EJAB to interpret BMC's strategic plans for economic mobility work and suggest enhancements or strategies based on EJAB's industry knowledge.
  • Incorporate hospital leaders into relationships as appropriate based on their expertise and projects.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the layers of economic mobility work happening both at BMC and externally to include: Workforce development, wealth building, housing, small business, etc.
  • Responsible for existing member retention and growth in coordination with Development.
  • Aid Development in identifying programmatic support opportunities that align with member's CSR goals and interests.
    • Assists with events and initiatives in collaboration with Development, including occasional events outside of normal business hours.
  • Communicate EJAB activities to Community Affairs and established community partners to position BMC as a leader in this work and ensure the group is collaborating externally as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

None required.

EXPERIENCE:

Three-five years of related experience is required, preferably working in an academic and/or healthcare institution or in a sales role.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Superior verbal/written English communication skills, including excellent grammatical, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook), and web browsers.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional organizational skills; must be proactive and a quick learner.
  • Proven ability to work with confidential information
  • Must be a dedicated team player, with a willingness to learn and to share knowledge with the staff.
