POLITICO Magazine is looking for an ambitious, creative editor to join our team. The ideal candidates will possess strong editing and writing skills, enthusiasm for politics and policy, and a track-record of writing or editing standout stories. The Magazine is committed to publishing the best, most original longform and ideas journalism about politics and policy, from narrative features to ideas-driven essays to quick-turn perspectives on the news. This editor will be a key part of that mission.

What You'll Do:

  • Assign, develop and edit stories for the Magazine, both quick-turn stories and longer-term ones
  • Identify and recruit talented contributors
  • Collaborate across departments, especially with the art team and writers from the POLITICO newsroom
  • Work on magazine special packages and projects

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • An eye for talented writing and original ideas
  • Ideas, ideas, ideas. We are looking for editors who are full of interesting, actionable ideas - not just story ideas but also ideas about new ways to present and package our journalism for maximum impact
  • A deep appreciation for good journalism and a refined sense of what makes a good magazine story work
  • A can-do attitude
