PRIMARY PURPOSE:

WI-HER seeks to build a roster of communications and/or graphic design experts to work on communications projects/deliverables on an as-needed basis.

WI-HER is seeking the services of an individual with experience in professional writing, editing, and graphic design. Projects will be on a short-term, as-needed basis, and WI-HER will select consultants from the roster based on specific project needs, consultant availability, and area of expertise.

Projects may include, but are not limited to:

1.     Copy-editing documents (such as reports, learning briefs, and proposals), including ensuring documents are consistent in tone, voice, and structure.

2.     Formatting documents in Microsoft Office products

3.     Ensuring documents are 508 compliant

4.     Creating graphs/charts and other graphic elements

5.     Edit photos for insertion into the final document when necessary.

• Professional writing, editing, and communication skills, including an eye for detail
• Proficiency in APA style
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Ability to distill complex, technical language into language that is more accessible to a broader population
• Knowledge of 508 compliance

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel (non-technical), and Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• A strong understanding of design for both print and digital
• Strong conceptual skills, knowledge, and experience designing page layouts, infographics, charts, tables, and graphs
• Ability to take ideas and think creatively to make professional, aesthetically pleasing layouts while maintaining company identity standards
• Knowledge of 508 compliance
