Job Description
The Hearst Magazines Summer Internship Program is a paid, full time 11-week program for undergraduate rising juniors, seniors, and graduate students. From June 5 - August 18, 2023, our interns will gain an immersive, hands-on experience with one of the top publishers in the world.
In addition to working with their assigned team on important projects, interns will gain access to Hearst's diverse professional network by participating in intimate learning sessions and join fun peer networking activities throughout the summer. Program participants will also leverage Hearst's resources to work on and present a group project to senior leaders at the conclusion of the program.
YOUR IMPACT
ThePioneerWoman.com is looking for an enthusiastic go-getter to join their editorial team as a summer intern. This opportunity is ideal for a strong writer who's crazy about food, lifestyle, and The Pioneer Woman brand.
You'll work with editors to write high-performing news content daily, but we'll look to you for fresh feature, packaging, and social media ideas as well. You should be a fast learner who wants to strengthen your skill set by working for a major women's brand. A sense of humor and a can-do attitude are a must!
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Writing daily articles and galleries focused on lifestyle topics including food, ecommerce, TV and movies, viral trends, and more.
- Assisting the Senior Editor with Instagram as needed.
- Syndicating/cloning articles from other Hearst brands.
- Assisting with various production and administrative duties, such as freelance contracts, building freelance stories, and invoicing.
- 1-2 years' experience in writing food, news, or lifestyle-related content.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Good time management skills; capable of multitasking.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Google Drive, Adobe tools preferred.
- Understanding of traffic and analytics tools, including Google Analytics, Google Trends, and Chartbeat is a plus but not required.
- Must be available to work during internship program dates.
