Education Coordinator, PICU

The Education Coordinator is an entry level position that is responsible for the educational program for our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This position will serve as a role model, change agent, and facilitator while assessing learning needs in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities. The Education Coordinator collaborates with teams to ensure that educational activities are congruent with the strategic goals and promise of Cook Children's, as well as with contemporary health care trends. This RN maintains exemplary professional interpersonal communication skills, collaborates well with teams, and demonstrates good customer relation skills. The Education Coordinator demonstrates sound clinical judgement and strong critical thinking abilities while striving to enhance the quality of patient care through orientation and staff development opportunities and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years of clinical PICU experience
• Licensed to practice in Texas
• BSN required
• Hold graduate degree in nursing, education, or related field, or must be enrolled in graduate program within 12 months of hire (and make consistent progress)
• BLS and PALS are required
