Reporting to the Science Action Club (SAC) Manager, the Education Program Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative support and customer service for the SAC program. The position is responsible for coordinating program logistics, tracking data, addressing inquiries, and representing SAC to our growing international network of out-of-school time programs and partners. This position is based in San Francisco, California. Staff are currently expected to work from the Academy offices at least 2-3 times per week, which may fluctuate based on business needs. Candidates are required to have up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination, including receiving a booster shot, as a condition of employment, absent qualifying exemptions in accordance with applicable laws. About the Science Action Club Team
Science Action Club is a globally-reaching out-of-school time education program for middle school youth that leverages community and citizen science to address science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) learning goals, teach discrete STEM skills, improve environmental literacy, and foster strong STEM identities. The program features environmental science kits that empower afterschool and summer learning program staff who take youth outdoors to investigate nature, contribute to authentic science research, and design strategies to protect the planet. Program staff receive training on how to use SAC kits and activities, as well as learn best practices for teaching STEM in the informal learning environment. From Anchorage to Albany, over 73,000 youth and program staff in 470 communities, 40 states and three countries have participated in SAC since 2011.
Key Responsibilities
- Onboard new SAC clubs and trainers by requesting and collecting enrollment data, providing access to curriculum and training resources, and fielding questions/concerns with enthusiastic and responsive customer service
- Coordinate invoices, payments, shipments, and implementation logistics for SAC kits and trainings; process and track expenses and revenue
- Use SAC’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, Copper, to track enrollment data; develop and enhance record-keeping strategies
- Work with kit vendor to build, track, ship and maintain inventory of SAC kits
- Respond quickly, accurately, and reliably to requests from internal and external partners
- Gather program information, statistics, and evaluation data and stories from customers and partners for marketing initiatives and funder reports
- Work closely with the SAC Manager and Education Marketing Coordinator to respond to needs of the SAC community, draw connections between marketing and enrollment, and support the strategic growth of the program
- Aide in the facilitation of SAC trainings, events, and conferences both virtually and in-person
- Coordinate logistics for onsite and off-site events, including organizing spaces, reserving rooms and resources, requesting audio-visual and custodial support, arranging catering, tracking work orders, scheduling club site visits, and booking travel
- Represent EL&YE and the Academy internally and with external partners at out-of-school time industry events, conferences, and trade shows; travel up to 2 times per year on trips 1-4 nights long
- Contribute broadly to the Academy’s mission by serving on cross-divisional committees, employee resource groups (ERGs), and/or other special projects
- Implement and follow all Academy safety regulations

Qualifications
A successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A qualified candidate will have a combination of the following experience:
- At least 2 years of administrative experience tracking and organizing detailed program metrics
- At least 2 years of experience providing outstanding customer service, preferably to users of educational products or programs
- Experience with STEM education and out-of-school time learning preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent organizational skills; able to juggle multiple tasks with strong attention to detail
- Accessible and enthusiastic customer service skills and public speaking abilities
- Ability to communicate regularly with program participants, staff, partners, and the public, and respond to requests in a timely manner
- Commitment to keeping processes accurate and efficient
- Curiosity, creativity, and commitment to tackling complex problems; ability to foresee obstacles, recommend solutions, and collaborate on action steps
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and anticipate workflow
- Basic competence with digital technology; proficiency with Google apps and willingness to learn new programs
Physical Environment: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Must be able to lift, transport, and pull 25 lbs. Must be able to perform repetitive motions 75% of the time.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly hiring range: $27.88-$30.77 per hour. Hourly rate will vary based on experience and relevant skills/knowledge set. The Academy offers a total compensation package that emphasizes both base salary and comprehensive benefits.
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
