EHS Coordinator
Job Description
Role Summary
This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of Magna Exteriors Belvidere as described in the Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate environmental, health, safety and ergonomic activities through strong leadership, communication and motivation.
- Ensure that every Magna Exteriors Belvidere employee has a safe work environment, free from recognized hazards. Promote andencourage safe work habits and the immediate communication of unsafe conditions.
- Understand, support, implement, and enforce compliance to all company and governmental agencies safety policies, procedures and regulations. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
- Actively prevent pollution/reduce waste to support the attainment of established goals. Maintain an understanding and instruct employees on how their specific job can affect the environment or the health and safety of themselves or others.
- Coordinate safety training for all Magna Exteriors Belvidere employees in the areas of Safety, Fire Prevention, and Ergonomics.
- Investigate and maintain records for all work related injuries and/or illnesses, provide statistical analysis, and assist department management in the development of effective health and safety counter-measures to continuously improve safety objectives.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study, Master's Degree preferred.
- Must be willing to pursue schooling for position as required.
- Relative experience is acceptable in lieu of education.
- Minimum five years Health, Safety, and Environmental experience, preferably in a manufacturing facility.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills as well as strong organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Must have working knowledge of Industrial Ergonomics.
- Certified Safety Professional preferred.
