Job Description
Eaton's Power Reliability Division is currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern to join our team for Summer 2023. This position is based at our South Milwaukee, WI location.
Position Overview:
The EHS Intern provides support and/or facilitation to employees and teams at all levels in the successful implementation and execution of Environmental, Health and Safety programs throughout the facility.

In this function you will:
- Gain an understanding of the Management of Environmental, Safety and Health (MESH) system utilizing Eaton EHS tools to drive improvements in safety, health, waste, water, energy and GHG.
- Perform assessments to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
- Track appropriate leading and lagging indicators in EHS.
- Support a Zero incident EHS culture throughout the facility.
- Support Zero waste to landfill and zero water discharge efforts.
- Engage through teams to accomplish established targets and objectives for associated with EHS, waste, water, energy and GHG.
- Participate in evaluations of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations.
- Contribute to incident investigations and identify corrective actions that address root cause.
- Establish and/or maintain EHS processes and systems to manage data.
- Manage training matrices, scheduling and sessions to ensure all training is defined, completed, and tracked in accordance with an annual plan.
- Voice innovative solutions that support operational constraints, while ensuring employee safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements):
- Actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in a EHS related field from an accredited institution
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round).
- Relocation is not provided for this role, the candidate must be located within 50 miles of South Milwaukee,WI
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant work experience and/or EHS internship experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community
- A desire to build a career in EHS in a fast-pace manufacturing environment
- Highly skilled communicator, strong analytical, and presentation skills
- Ability to execute with minimal direction and prepared to navigate change with patience, optimism, and poise
- Intellectually curious; always willing to probe deeper to understand organizational behavior and performance
