JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and directs site in achieving EHS targets & objectives. Directs development, maintenance, and achievement of goals in support of corporate and divisional EHS strategic initiatives. Drives and promotes a zero incident EHS culture throughout the site.
- Investigate, submit written reports and track recommendations on incidents involving health and safety matters through the EHS-IS system.
- Provide consultation to employees regarding appropriate health and safety procedures, controls, codes, regulations and policies regarding proposed renovations, construction or changes with potential impact on health and safety.
- Conduct surveys of plant facilities and operations, including leading Safety GEMBA walks, to identify existing/potentially hazardous conditions.
- Participate in the development of safety guidelines, programs, risk analysis and related health and safety communications and educational information.
- Coordinate and present technical training programs in general safety training and/or specialty areas for employees as required by regulations, system policy and/or departmental directive.
- Assist in the development of systems and programs within the facility, including but not limited to regulatory agencies, ISO 14001/ISO 45001Internal Audit and third-party contractors, as needed.
- Responsible for annual SARA Form R report and continuous inventory of TRI chemical use.
- Responsible for annual SARA Tier II reporting to city, county, and state agencies.
- Respond to emergencies involving hazardous incidents to aid in remediation efforts on-site, as required.
- Wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Manage all aspects of the respiratory protection program.
- Determines appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track performance against targets and objectives.
- Serve on safety committees as requested and report on monthly safety data.
- Participate in institutional professional development and training.
- Possess sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in environmental health or related discipline and/or two years of experience in environmental health and safety or related field.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in environmental health or related discipline and/or two years of experience in health and safety or related field.
- Effective communication skills to interact and communicate health and safety procedures plant wide.
- Computer skills as required.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, nationally recognized standards, and guidelines related to specialized health and safety functions as required by the position.

- Must be able to lift, push, and/or pull up to 60 pounds occasionally.
- On a continuous basis must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to make occasional trips to manufacturing sites and customers by air and by automobile.
- Able to be on call 24/7 for customer and manufacturing sites.
- Able and willing to work around chemicals, coolants, oils, moving equipment, and electrical power.
