LGE Air Solutions is currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our dynamic team in Huntsville, AL as part of our new North American production site!
SUMMARY:
The EHS Manager is responsible for achieving a zero accident rate through observation, training and documentation of environmental, safety, fire prevention and health-related laws and regulations. Included in the scope of responsibility will be coordinating regulatory programs and permitting applications. Focus will be on finding opportunities to reduce environmental, safety and health liabilities while providing leadership in the development of responsible programs that represent our culture. Plan and administer training and awareness programs in environmental and safety prevention and protection, and other regulatory issues. The position will also be responsible for utilities and facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the development and implementation of all environmental, health and safety programs
- Conduct compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Environmental, Health, Safety and management.
- Conduct detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis
- Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs to all departments, managers and employees
- Conduct on-going training regarding environmental, safety and health for all employees
- Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees in all departments, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies
- Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety (OSHA Logs, HazCom, Training Logs, etc)
- Co-ordinate and manage all worker's compensation claims and programs.
- Maintain accident statistics, analyze trends and propose/take action as necessary
- Responsible for implementing global EHS management system operation
- Responsible for minimizing environmental pollutants and improve recycling
- Reports EEHS status to local management and to Korean HQ
- Management of environmental pollutants: Under 70% of local regulation' limit.
- Stays current in all relevant government regulations as well as LGE HQ policies
- Negotiates with relevant vendors/contractors
- Communicates effectively with government agencies
- Demonstrates passion to drive change and innovation in safety, health and environmental programs
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Required Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the field of environmental health and safety
- Required Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field.
- Prefer Master's degree in Risk Management, Environmental Health and Safety, or related field.
- Prefer EHS relational skills and certificates (PE)
- Prefer bilingual skills in English and Korean
