Department Overview

The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Department is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our associates, minimizing the EHS impact of their activities and complying with all applicable environmental, safety and industrial hygiene regulations. The EHS Dept is also responsible for Sustainability programs across the corporation including but not limited to Supply Chain Corporate Responsibility and Carbon Footprint reduction.
Job Description

NOTE: Candidate must be local to the Chicagoland area with the ability to work in a hybrid role and travel to our Schaumburg and Elgin locations. Housing will not be provided for this role.

Responsibilities:

This intern will be responsible for supporting the MSI Environmental Health and Safety team with its current initiatives, including:

• supporting programs/activities for manufacturing, distribution and laboratory operations such as Machine Guarding and Lockout/Tagout

• support implementation of a pilot program which will use wearable sensors to reduce ergonomic issues in manufacturing and distribution operations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelors Degree program in Safety Engineering or a related field preferred

• Ability to use basic spreadsheets and data analysis software

• Experience with making presentations to peers and managers

• Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree program in Safety Engineering, EHS, or related field of engineering

• Must have a graduation date on or after December 2024
