Job Summary:

Trane Technologies is hiring an entry level Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist for our Commercial HVAC St. Paul Manufacturing Facility! This critical business partner is responsible for the promotion and maintenance of the environmental safety and health program for both the plant and office area. We are looking for a great communicator who will be successful at building relationships with our team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate safety process efforts in the St. Paul Manufacturing Facility.
  • Continuously drive improvements in critical proactive safety programs.
  • Ensure all safety, occupational health and environmental related records are accurately maintained and in compliance with state, DOT, provincial, or other regulatory agency rules and regulations and Trane procedures.
  • Implement Trane safety policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Analyze safety data to coordinate the safety effort for continual improvement.
  • Conduct annual fire, life, safety training for St. Paul location
  • Conduct new-hire safety training and ensure all employees meet annual training requirements.
  • Participate on corporate teams as needed to assist in the development of safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and lead the various Safety Committees and complete action items in a timely manner.
  • Conduct investigation of injuries, near misses, incidents and accidents and ensures corrective actions are implemented and completed.
  • Utilize company EHS platform, Gensuite, as directed to assign and monitor inspections, concern and near miss reports, Action Tracking System items and generate various reports as directed.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and identification of workstation improvements
  • Assist with overseeing the administration of workers' compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier and administering the return-to-work program.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental or Safety Sciences/Engineering, or related field (required).
  • Background in applying EHS principles within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Hazardous & Non-Hazardous Waste Disposal requirements along with EPA and state/local environmental requirements preferred.
  • General knowledge of Federal OSHA, EPA, & DOT regulations.
  • Highly motivated EHS Professional that is eager to gain experience within the EHS field. All experience levels will be considered.
  • Ability to motivate, engage and influence others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including written and verbal in English. Bi-lingual is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction and strategy.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working with manufacturing technicians, presenting training material to large audiences, as well as communicating with leaders in the organization
