Your Role:
The EHS Specialist is responsible for the implementation and effective maintenance of Faraday Future EHS programs.  The individual will conduct periodic daily safety walks to ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) are worn when required. The individual is proactive to ensure the workers are conducting their operations in accordance to safety standards of OSHA and CAL-OSHA. They will ensure that the necessary PPE are available for employees to use.  The individual is expected to act as the Safety Champion to positively reinforce and communicate safety awareness and behaviors in all areas. The individual is responsible to ensure the hazardous wastes are stored and handled according to federal, state, and local regulations. They will conduct periodic checks of the hazardous waste area. They will support the all FF SDSs in the SDS system.  The individual will conduct and submit all required CUPA HMBP reporting in the CERS for all FF facilities.
Responsibilities:
- The EHS Specialist is responsible for the implementation and effective maintenance of Faraday Future EHS programs including core EHS management systems and processes
- Assists in the compliance of all federal, state, and local environmental regulatory requirements
- Insures the on-going evaluation of overall plant operations for compliance assurance, productivity, and growth
- Acts as an safety Champion to positively reinforce and communicate safety awareness and behaviors in all areas
- Candidate should be able to push, pull, stoop and lift objects up to 35lbs
- Provides hands-on, comprehensive, site-wide review, guidance, implementation, and program support for all safety programs including lockout/tagout, electrical, personal protective equipment, hazard communication, machine guarding, and environmental programs
- Conducts routine, scheduled facility inspections and audits to monitor and detect potential safety, health, and environmental hazards. Â Ensure PPE compliance among employees. Â Recommends corrective action or preventative measures where indicated and appropriate. Properly reports and documents findings and actions taken. Offers solutions not just action lists.
- Ensure appropriate and authorized safety equipment are available on site
- Investigates and reports all accidents and incidents in a timely manner to properly document root-cause, preventative measures, corrective action plans, and recommended training
- Ensures the company remains compliant with all OSHA and other safety related regulations as well as insurance carrier requirements
- Cooperates and supports all EHS training program
- Develops, implements, and conducts regular safety meetings
- Proactively communicates with Management and Supervision on all safety issues
- Ensure the proper handling, classification, labeling and disposal of hazardous waste
- Implement a scheduling system for collection, consolidation and disposal of hazardous waste
- Document all activities pertaining to the receiving, usage and disposal of hazardous waste/material
- Periodic inspection of hazardous waste area
- Physically capable of handling drums of hazardous waste in a safe and effective manner
- Ensure hazwaste operations are in full compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Work in a potentially hazardous environment
- Manage all incoming Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and existing SDSs in FF's SDS system
- Inventory hazardous materials for required CUPA HMBP reporting in the CERS
- Be flexible with work hours to support all operations
- Must be able to lift 45 lbs. under normal conditions
- Be able to use hand dollies, forklifts and drums lifts to accomplish daily tasks
- Notify manager of any hindrance to duties, i.e. mechanical failure, safety issues, schedule conflict, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in from Accredited Safety/Environmental Engineering Program or similar field of study
- 3 to 5 years EH&S experience within a similar manufacturing environment
- Knowledge and expertise in machine and equipment safety including automation
- Knowledge and expertise in industrial hygiene requirements
- Familiar with CERS reporting (HMBP)
- Familiar with manufacturing integrated management systems and Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Familiarity with all current with Federal, State and Local environmental and safety regulations (Cal-OSHA, CUPA, DPW City of Hanford, SJAPCD)
- Must be able to prepare and submit all applicable safety reports
- Certified Safety Professional and/or Certified Hazardous Material Manager preferred, equivalent experience and degree
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasion skills
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive manufacturing and facility development (or equivalent manufacturing), research, development, and design experience desired
Annual Salary Range:
$77,000 to $92,000, plus benefits and incentive plans
