The day-to-day:
- Responsible for implementing company policies within a functional area of expertise.
- Tasks involve the application of specialized functional knowledge in routine and non-routine situations under the supervision of management.
- Ensures that plant health, environmental, and safety goals and objectives are consistent with those of the company as a whole.
- Support plant regarding health and safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, property loss, prevention, and recycling.
- Manage the Hazardous Waste Program in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Interacts effectively with outside agencies to achieve world-class safety and health performance.
- Communicate effectively with plant management to review supported areas listed within this list.
- Analyses injury/illness data to determine root cause, and trends and implements suggest corrective action(s).
- Adheres to applicable quality and environment system requirements ISO 14001 work instructions and procedures.
- Complete periodic statistical trending and reporting and provide aggregate data to support groups as needed.
- Assist plans in achieving corporate set goals.
- Implement and monitor systems for incident prevention.
- Assist in research and selection of EHS vendors and consultants.
- Assist in the review of EHS training programs, provide assistance in correcting deficiencies, and recommend and/or offer training courses.
- Ensure compliance with the corporate-mandated safety programs.
- Maintain compliance with all environmental permits including Title V Air Quality Permit.
- Conduct facility safety audits and industrial hygiene surveys for noise and chemical exposure hazards
- Oversee plant(s) Medical First Aid Program with respect to written procedures for first aid practices
- Provide Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Manager with regular reports of assigned plant activities.

- Good computer skills including typing and the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to pay attention to detail, multi-task, and follow directions.
- Possess strong judgment/decision-making skills, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadline
- 5+ years in an EHS role.
- BS/BA in EHS or, a closely related field.
- Proactive abilities to take initiative.
