If you are a seasoned EHS professional looking to make an impact in a rewarding industry, join our team! As an EHS Specialists III at Sierra Space you are responsible for a range of technical work across EHS disciplines, focusing on engaging stakeholders, reducing risk, and maintaining related assigned EHS programs. You'll be working individually and in teams to develop, implement, and address employee and stakeholder concerns. Your technical responsibilities will ensure program compliance to federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards.
Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Wisconsin, Texas, Florida, and North Carolina, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations. Must Haves:
  • 6 or more years EHS experience in general industry, startup companies, or aerospace
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Knowledgeable in developing and implementing programs based on strategies, goals, and risks
  • Proficiency with technology (computers, tablets, proprietary EHS related hardware and software, etc.)
  • Experience with chemical management programs
  • Be independent and able to work without day to day guidance

Preferred:
  • Basic understanding of 29 CFR 1910, 1926, and other EHS related regulations and standards
  • Experience leading incident investigation teams to identify all causal factors and corrective actions
  • Demonstrated experience in EHS program management with emphasis on program development, industrial hygiene, and driving improvement in safety culture
  • Proven ability to foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, open communication, and company culture
  • Understanding of industrial hygiene and chemical management requirements
  • Awareness of EHS Management Systems such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and/or ANSI Z10
  • Base knowledge of Federal, State, and Local standards
  • Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and administrative skills
  • Be a creative and innovative thinker
  • Have self-accountability and dependability
  • Possess a high level of ethics and integrity
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Adept at collecting and maintaining EHS data with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to build productive relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Be a highly proficient communicator, both written and verbal
  • Possess technical knowledge of specific EHS topics
  • Have the ability to work occasional nights/weekends/holidays
  • Comfortable responding to EHS related events/emergencies (incl. off-hours & holidays) if they occur
  • Background in the aerospace

Estimated Pay Range: $72,059 - $99,081
