Elastic Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Elasticsearch Implementation:

   • Design and implement Elasticsearch clusters to meet the organization's search and analytics requirements.
   • Configure and optimize Elasticsearch indices and mappings.

2. Elastic Stack Integration:

   • Implement and configure other components of the Elastic Stack, including Logstash and Kibana.
   • Ensure seamless integration between various Elastic Stack components.

3. Performance Optimization:

   • Monitor and optimize the performance of Elasticsearch clusters.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve performance-related issues.

4. Security and Access Control:

   • Implement security measures for Elasticsearch clusters, including access control and encryption.
   • Stay updated on Elastic Stack security best practices and apply them to the organization's environment.

5. Logging and Data Ingestion:

   • Design and implement efficient log shipping and data ingestion processes.
   • Collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance logging capabilities.

6. Documentation and Training:

   • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Elastic Stack configurations and processes.
   • Provide training and support to other team members on Elastic Stack usage.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as an Elastic Engineer or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of Elasticsearch architecture, configuration, and optimization.
• Experience with Logstash and Kibana in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of logging and data ingestion processes.
• Familiarity with security practices for Elasticsearch clusters.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Elasticsearch certification.
• Knowledge of Beats for data shippers.
• Experience with Elasticsearch on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
