- Support the design of architecture and development of avionics and power system for a large human-occupied system with challenging requirements for operational environments, accessibility, reliability, configurability and redundancy
- Provide technical direction and set requirements to software and hardware agile development teams, integration, and test personnel
- Perform engineering analyses including trade studies, use case development, requirements definition, derivation, validation and verification, interface definition, Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis, etc.Â
- Support planning, development, production, integration, testing, and operation of the avionics system in close concert with every related discipline
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar
- 1+ years of experience with circuit board design, analysis, or unit level testing (significant academic projects, internships, and traditional professional experience all qualify)
- 1+ years of experience with electronic components, wire harnesses, and electrical test equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies)
- Experience with electrical schematic capture software (Altium, Orcad or similar)
- Experience designing enclosures for electronics
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Ability to creatively solve problems and bring multiple disciplines together while assessing risk and making design and development decisions with incomplete data set
- Experience working in collegiate project teams (e.g. Formula SAE, Hybrid Electric Vehicle) and/or professional experience Professional experience with instrumentation and data acquisition (e.g. SPICE, SQL, and/or National Instruments hardware)
- Experience with software programming: Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, Fortran, C/C++, JS, etc.
- Experience with vehicle and instrumentation buses such as GPIB, USB, TCP/IP, CAN, SPI, and I2C, as well as serial I/O (RS232/422/485)
- Experience with full-lifecycle product development
- Experience with designing electronics for spaceflight environment, verifying workmanship and operability through environmental test (random vibration, shock, thermal, burn-in, and TVAC)
- Strong sense of accountability and integrity with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive at an early-stage startup where you will have the opportunity to help create and optimize key systems and processes
Pay Range:Â
- Electrical Engineer Level I: $80,000-$110,000
- Electrical Engineer Level II: $100,000-$145,000

The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
