Electrical Engineer Associate / Electrical Engineer I - EMI / EMC

We are looking for Electrical Engineers with technical expertise in EMI/EMC who can help transform photons into new digital information.
What You'll Do:
- Define the electronics EMI compliance architecture for spacecraft subsystem and assembly level hardware. This includes: technology assessments, instrument and/or spacecraft requirements flow-down to electronic subsystems, electronic requirements analysis and allocation, electrical subsystem conceptual development/trade studies, supporting hardware development efforts for current and future program needs and providing system test support during environmental EMC testing.
- Support instrument remote sensing and/or spacecraft bus programs especially in the areas of EMI/EMC requirements, design, issues and testing (unit level and system level).
- Document test results and exceedances and write post-test compliance reports.
- Participate and/or lead activities in all phases of a program life cycle from concept development to delivery.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, the Strategic Capabilities Units, and the company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You'll Need:
- Engineer Associate - BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
- Engineer I - BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 2 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Required knowledge of the physics of EMI/EMC and system interactions at the physical layer.
- Familiarity with circuit modeling tools such as LTSPICE or equivalent.
- Knowledge of electromagnetics, to include transmission lines, antennas, cable coupling and electromagnetic transients.
- Analytical skills including FMECA, WCA, reliability and risk mitigation.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-461/462/1541 and SMC-S-016 testing requirements preferred.
- Familiarity with electromagnetic modeling tools, such as Ansys, HFSS, FEKO, etc. preferred.
- Good communication skills, excellent presentation skills and ability to lead group discussions.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Relocation for this position is available.
Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR ENGINEER ASSOCIATE - ELECTRICAL: $75,500 - $93,750 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
- HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR ENGINEER I - ELECTRICAL: $91,500 - $113,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
