Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team here at Ryvid. As an Electrical Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in the development and production of cutting-edge electric vehicles. Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and calibrate electrical systems and equipment and support in the area of drivetrain and battery testing, with a strong emphasis on previous experience in the EV industry.
A successful candidate shall be a self-starter that displays strong creativity in developing test fixtures. The candidate shall be able to review the testing plan from the engineering team and analyze build test cases to evaluate new electrical drivetrain systems quickly, and efficiently. They also should be able to understand basic circuitry and knows how to machine parts for electrical engineering testing and provide system diagrams to support the product design team.
Responsibilities:
- Battery Hardware Development: Collaborate with the engineering team to design, prototype, and optimize battery systems for electric vehicles. This includes conducting feasibility studies, selecting appropriate components, and performing a detailed analysis of battery performance.
- Testing and Validation: Develop and implement test plans and procedures to evaluate battery hardware performance and reliability. Conduct various tests, such as thermal cycling, accelerated aging, and environmental testing, to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identify and resolve technical issues related to battery hardware, both during the development and production phases. Utilize your deep understanding of battery systems to troubleshoot problems and propose effective solutions.
- Prototyping and Assembly: Build and assemble battery prototypes, ensuring accurate installation and connection of components. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and designers, to develop and refine battery systems.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and design modifications. Generate comprehensive reports to communicate findings and recommendations to the engineering team.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in the implementation and improvement of quality control processes for battery hardware. Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with engineers, designers, and technicians to achieve project objectives and milestones. Actively participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Education: AA and 15+ Years of experience
- Battery Hardware Experience: Demonstrated experience working with high-voltage battery systems, preferably within the EV industry
- Hands-on Expertise: Proven ability to assemble, test, and troubleshoot battery hardware and related systems. Experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with a logical and analytical approach to troubleshooting and debugging. Ability to analyze test data, identify trends, and provide recommendations for design improvements.
- Communication and Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and present technical information clearly and concisely.
- Adaptability and Initiative: Willingness to work in a fast-paced startup environment with changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Passion for Electric Vehicles: Enthusiasm for sustainable transportation and the electric vehicle industry. Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in EV technology.
Other Requirements:
- Familiarity with electric vehicles, or the automotive industry is desirable, especially in drivetrain systems such as batteries, electric motors, motor controller units (MCU)
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards internal teams and external customers and vendors.
Work Environment:

- Competitive salary range $55,000-$65,000
