Electrical Foreman β Utility-Scale Solar Projects (Travel Role: Illinois)
Location:Multiple project sites across Illinois (100% travel required)
Pay Rate:$60.00 β $100.00 per hour(depending on site location and experience)
Rotation:Travel-based rotation schedule with designated home time
Type:Full-Time Opportunity
Licensing:Current Journeyman Electrician License required (any U.S. state)
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and licensedElectrical Foremanto lead electrical operations onutility-scale solar construction projectsacross various sites in Illinois. The ideal candidate will have aminimum of 5 yearsβ experience supervising electrical crewsof 10β12 members and possess deep knowledge of NEC, medium voltage systems, and solar field installation standards.
This is atravel-intensive role, and candidates must be flexible to rotate through multiple project sites with scheduled home time.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Supervise, coordinate, and lead field electrical crews (10β12 electricians and apprentices)
β’ Oversee trenching, conduit installation, cable pulls, grounding, combiner box, and inverter terminations
β’ Ensure work is performed according to NEC codes, utility interconnection standards, and site-specific plans
β’ Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce all OSHA regulations and site safety policies
β’ Review and interpret electrical blueprints, single-line diagrams, and specifications
β’ Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and QA/QC inspectors
β’ Maintain crew productivity, material planning, and jobsite logistics
β’ Mentor junior electricians and enforce quality control during all installation phases
β’ Submit daily reports, crew logs, and progress updates to management
Requirements:
β’ Journeyman Electrician License (active and current β any U.S. state accepted)
β’ Minimum 5 yearsβ experience supervising field crewson solar or commercial/industrial electrical projects
β’ Strong understanding of utility-scale PV systems, switchgear, inverters, and AC/DC circuits
β’ Proficient in reading blueprints and managing field documentation
β’ Ability to travel 100% of the time and work in various outdoor site conditions
β’ OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
β’ Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
