Electrical Robotics Technician

As a robotics technician on the electrical assembly team you will be responsible for building all electrical systems and subsystems of the Fox Robotics robot. You will follow written work instructions and help engineers develop processes through open feedback and documentation. Your strong sense of urgency and initiative will  drive the electrical team to achieve production rate targets.

Responsibilities

• Modify incoming electrical harnesses with various tools such as wire cutters, crimping tools, soldering, and desoldering tools.   
• Interpret technical documents, such as diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other verbal, digital and written instructions to build and install robot wiring harnesses. 
• Work with other members of the group to assemble and test robots.
• Populate PLC, emergency stops, sensors, and various housings or panels with the appropriate components with extreme care to minimize damage and scrap.
• Support production testing using multimeters, continuity testers, automated harness testing equipment, and other tools as necessary to troubleshoot electrical harnesses and panels. 
• Report any non-conformances to management and recommend any changes to work instructions or designs that will improve quality, speed, or safety of a robotics build.

 Qualifications

• Strong electrical diagnosis skills. 
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Experience building or modifying automotive electrical harnesses and components.
• Knowledge of electrical concepts such as voltage, current, continuity, digital communication protocols, and PLCs.   
• Workshop safety skills.
• Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail.
