OVERALL DESCRIPTION Installs, maintains, repairs, tests and adjusts electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensures that work is in accordance with specifications and relevant codes. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES • Installs, maintains, repairs, tests and adjusts electrical equipment, wiring and fixtures. • Inspects, cleans, repairs transformers, inverters, motor alternators, automatic transfer switches, switchboard relays. • Inspects, cleans and makes all repairs to all repairs to lighting circuits, replaces fuses and circuit breakers. • Installs and repairs substation power traction equipment, bus bars and wiring, repairs motors and motor controls. • Maintains power service to all electrical apparatus. ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • High school graduate or equivalent. • Must have a valid driver's license. Will be required to obtain a CDL. • Must successfully complete pre-employment and performance tests as required. • Must have 4 years of relevant electrical work experience. • An equivalent combination of trade school education and experience may be considered in lieu of the above requirements (one year of formal education equating to two years of experience). • Must have relevant electrical work experience and be proficient in the installation, maintenance, repair, testing and adjustment of electrical equipment.
