Electrician, Part-time

Vast is searching for an Electrician to support our growing Operations team. You will play a vital role in the installation of machinery and equipment to support a state of the art space station production environment.

This is a part-time role based in Long Beach, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Install or repair a variety of high and low voltage electrical equipment such as: motor control centers, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment
• Preventive maintenance on various equipment
• Read and implement schematics and blueprints and provide feedback to ensure cost effective installation
• Install connectors and terminate wires
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment to ensure high uptime and reliability for machinery
• Oversee contractors to ensure quality workmanship and conformance to engineered drawings

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 5+ years of work experience in commercial equipment wiring, maintenance and/or repair
• State of California Journeyman Certification

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with 3 phase electrical systems
• Experience with 480/277 volt and 208/120 volt systems
• Ability to use a variety of electrician's hand tools including sawzall, conduit bender, clamp on current meter, wire-tugger, jig saw, hydraulic punch, hand punch, hack saw, multi-meter, spade lug crimper, and other measuring and testing instruments
• Ability to complete work according to compliance regulations as work may be subject to review by an outside inspector or other engineers
• Adherence to OSHA standards when performing all tasks
• Working knowledge of construction and building codes, technology, and standards

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, climb up and down ladders, bend, stoop, grasp, pushing, stooping and stretching may be required to perform the functions of the role
• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted
• Ability to work in confined spaces as required depending on placement of equipment or machines
• Ability to distinguish colors is required
