TITLE:Electrician
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical circuits, systems and equipment; perform duties in collaboration with other trades areas as required in order to maintain District facilities. Troubleshoot and maintain fire alarm, intercom, and security systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
• Five (5) years of experience as a skilled electrician; commercial experience preferred
• Ability to obtain State of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Install, maintain and repair a variety of electrical equipment and controls including lighting systems, branch circuitry, power distribution and control circuitry.
• Install electrical services for new equipment including computer labs, recirculation desks, kitchen equipment, copiers, printers, A/C units, kilns, classroom relocations.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and service fire alarm systems for the safety of students and personnel.
• Maintain and service intercom systems, kitchen equipment, and security systems.
• Inspect and test various electrical systems for proper functioning.
• Revamp electrical systems for remodels and renovations.
• Support schools with electrical needs for other activities such as fund raising events, PTA events, and Kid Zone.
• Maintain records on time, labor and materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
• Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the electrical trade
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards and regulations
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions
• Skill in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of electrical systems and components
• Skill in the care and use of hand tools and equipment necessary to perform various electrical repair tasks
• Skill in both verbal and written communication
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
• Ability to use graphic instructions such as blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, or other visual aids

Lift up to 80 pounds of materials
