Job Description
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the team to design, develop, and test innovative non-flammable liquid electrolytes for lithium-metal-based batteries.
- Collaborate with Cuberg's battery recycling and manufacturing teams to scale production of lithium-metal batteries for the electric mobility market.
- Interface closely with research associates and contributors across departments and regularly interact with academic partners.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment and systems in a safe and organized manner, ensure accurate data collection, and maintain a clean working environment.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot electrolyte-based failures that may occur during critical stages of battery fabrication or assembly to assist in the development of new battery materials.
- Understand customer needs and develop materials specifications accordingly.
- Work collaboratively with industry peers and academic researchers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in research and development.
- Hands-on experience in developing, testing, and validating advanced electrolyte materials for lithium-ion batteries.
- Experience in spectroscopic methods and electrochemistry.
- Knowledge of battery testing protocols and data analysis techniques.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborate effectively, and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation skills. The ability to present complex data and findings in simple terms is a plus.

The San Francisco / Bay Area cash compensation (base) range for this full-time position is $26/hr - $55/hr + equity + benefits.
