Electromagnetic Motor Design Engineering Intern

Description

Create and manage motor winding data, use software tools to analyze motor performance and prepare nameplate information. Provides additional technical support as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and process laboratory test data using engineering programs
• Generate motor performance curves for internal and external customers
• Learn more about submersible-specific motor behaviors and application requirements
• Prepare nameplate data for new motor models based on test results or calculations
• Create and calculate new winding specifications for other voltage ratings, based on existing ones
• Use simulation tools/software for motor performance optimization and winding design changes
• Assist in reviewing product returns and identify potential areas of focus for product improvement
• Assist in analyzing materials of construction of motor components
• Assist in developing validation test requirements based on product specifications
• Initiate laboratory test requests for legacy products
• Provides technical support when needed
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned

Education and Experience

• Working toward bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
• Junior status in college
