Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic

About the Position: This position installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial electronic sensing and control systems.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform common tasks including install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of highly complex electronic sensing and control systems; interpret and apply engineering drawings to trace signal flow through less complex systems during troubleshooting; and perform or assist with installing, repairing, maintaining, and testing equipment and machinery used in the production of ammunition. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

• Physical Effort: Work assignments require moderate physical effort. Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise handles items weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally handles items greater than 40 pounds. Assistance is usually available with heavy items. All lifts over 50 pounds will be assisted with a two person lift or using a mechanical handling equipment lifting device. The two person lift limit is 100 pounds and will only be used for single event, non-routine lifts. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching and stooping is required. Occasionally, climbing and work in high places may be required.
• Working Conditions: Work is usually performed inside in well lighted, heated and ventilated areas. When equipment is fixed in place, it is necessary to work in industrial production buildings with exposure to loud noises, heat or cold, fumes, etc. Employee is subject to injuries, such as electric shock, cuts and bruises, as well as burns caused by electrical energy or soldering irons. Work involves exposure to explosive hazards when working while operations are in progress.
