Summary

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and nonionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Troubleshooting malfunctions of complex systems; 2) Debugging, editing, and creating programming code/algorithms on controlled systems; 3) Monitoring and operating complex networked systems such as DDC and SCADA and properly responding to discrepancies/deficiencies; 4) Demonstrating knowledge of industrial utility control operations, troubleshooting, and repair; and 5) Demonstrating knowledge of Knowledge of logic circuits, and of mechanical, hydraulic, and/or pneumatic systems.

Physical Effort: Perform moderately heavy lifting, pulling, and carrying of equipment and material weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally, you will lift or pull heavy cable weighing more than 50 pounds with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. May work aloft in bucket trucks, at ground level, and in ground trenches or manholes. May have to bend, stoop, climb, or stand for long periods of time. Must be able to distinguish colors and shades of colors. May work in awkward positions and restricted spaces where coordination of hands, legs, and body are needed to perform tasks.
Work Conditions: Work both indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to temperature extremes, chemicals, unpleasant odors, and wet and slippery surfaces. There is the possibility of burns, broken bones, cuts, and bruises from handling tools and equipment. There is the possibility of strains from awkward positions, injuries by falls, explosion of equipment or cables, and low-voltage electric shock. You will use protective equipment such as ear plugs, hard hat, flame retardant coveralls, blast suits, non-conductive gloves, and footwear.
