Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT MECHANIC, Position Description Number PDT5791000 and is part of the MA ANG 102nd IW, National Guard. - Subject to call back to meet emergency situations.
- The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver’s license may be required for the position.
- This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation won't exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved by TAG.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST HAVE experience, education or training which demonstrates a working knowledge of electronic principles involved in the generation and measurement of such elements as voltage, current, impedance, capacitance, frequency, and inductance. Experience in the use of various precision measurement instruments and standards.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: MUST HAVE at least 18 months of experience or training with basic application of operating principles such as the production and utilization of oscillations over a broad range of frequencies; signal and waveform behavior, distortion, and amplification; pulse, trigger, and synchronization techniques; digital/analog processing and data conversion techniques; and a variety of display and indication methods. Experience in tracing signals and voltage paths, and skilled in the analysis of waveform characteristics such as timing, duration, frequency, and phasing. Originates test set-ups to isolate malfunctions and check performance characteristics of special or unique test panels or mockups. Experience in interpreting and applying a variety of technical electronic information such as schematic symbols, mathematical expressions and formulas, calibration procedures, and other reference materials. Experience in applying established techniques and methods of repair, testing, alignment, and calibration of equipment, which serves as test equipment or precision measurement standards. Experience in utilizing electronic circuits to measure electronic or electrical quantities to determine the performance characteristics and accuracy of other instruments and equipment.
WELL QUALIFED: Candidates with a Certificate of Training in the field of Metrology (PMEL/TMDE) Calibration from either the Air Force, Army, Navy, other Federal Agency or commercial equivalent will be considered well qualified. e.g. AAS in a related field of study that is accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of months/years.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Selected applicant MAY BE eligible for a recruitment or relocation incentive not to exceed 25% of the annual rate of basic pay. A recruitment or relocation incentive must be negotiated prior to acceptance of the official offer.
