This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB & MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is within the Prod Eng Div, Test Equip Maint Branch of the Dir of Strategic Mgmt located at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, PA.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be willing to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must be willing to travel on Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 10% of the time.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be willing to undergo a physical examination initially, and annually thereafter.
- Must complete a one-year probation period.
- Requires enrollment/certification in Respiratory Protection Program.
Qualifications
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronic Measurement Equipment Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. Have the ability to perform common Electronic Measurement Equipment Mechanic duties, such as: Maintaining complex computer-based systems and automated test equipment; performing operational checkout of electronic test instruments and equipment to ensure precise functionality; calibrating instruments such as attenuators, generators, modulators, digital volt-meters, sampling scopes, frequency synthesizers, etc. Prepare detailed diagrams and schematics to facilitate repair and maintenance of electronic equipment, and diagnose individual circuit-failures within complex electronic system components using precision test equipment. Ability to work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
