This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is located with the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, LRC, Maintenance Division, Fort Belvoir, VA.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (NACI) background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a pre-employment physical.
- This position requires the incumbent to travel (TDY) up to 5 % of the times
- This position requires the incumbent to complete to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter,
Qualifications
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronics Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. - operate, repair and check electronic, electromechanical and mechanical assembles, and associated components on electronic equipment, such as computerized alarm systems, commercial and tactical two-way communication radios (portable, mobile and fixed), industrial controls, and emergency federal audio and video communication systems. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work assignments require light to moderate physical effort. Employees frequently lift, carry, or otherwise handle items weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally they handle items greater than 40 pounds, with assistance from coworkers. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping is required. Occasional climbing, working on concrete, and working in high places is required. The majority of work is performed in a sedentary position.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed inside a well-lighted, heated, ventilated area. Work is sometimes performed in high or restricted places, under conditions of heat or cold and occasional inclement weather. Employees are subject to injuries such as electrical shock, cuts, bruises, and minor burns.
