The Electronics and Sensors Division (ESD) is a world-class engineering and scientific leader in electronics and remote sensing systems. Our staff includes subject matter experts across a broad range of disciplines including radio frequency; infrared; visible and spectral sensors; sensor exploitation methods; analog and digital electronics; vehicle power systems; and space system electronic parts, materials and processes. Our expertise, combined with sophisticated in-house laboratories, prototyping, modeling, and simulation capabilities, enables ESD to deliver innovative solutions to national space systems and civil customers.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out a series of engineering tasks under supervision and guidance primarily from immediate supervisor, project leaders, and/or other MTS professionals in the group
- Prepare data reports
- Maintain laboratory equipment inventory and assist in property audits. Ensure all equipment are in compliance with company requirements
- Document processes and procedures
- Use MS programs such as Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams to communicate and collaborate on projects
- Interface with component engineers, customers, and parts manufacturers
This position is available as an Electronics Technology Specialist I or Electronics Technology Specialist II
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
Electronics Technology Specialist I
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Typically Associate's Degree in a related discipline, or 2 or more years of relevant experience with High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with laboratory safety protocols
- Must work well in a team environment
- Must be detail oriented
- Must possess strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects at one time
- Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision, to self-initiate activities, and to work within timelines
- Must possess time management and project management skills
- Ability to use a computer to complete assignments.
- Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence.
- Occasionally lift electronic equipment.
- Laboratory environment with possible exposure to hazardous materials and high voltage.
- Ability to obtain an Active secret clearance - US Citizenship Required
How You Can Stand Out

- Experience in digital and analog circuitry
- Knowledge of electronic test setups for part screenings
- Hands on experience working with and testing electronic parts
Electronics Technology Specialist II
- Typically 3 or more years of relevant experience with Associate's Degree in a related discipline, or 5 or more years of relevant experience with High School Diploma or equivalent
- Same as above
