What you'll do:
We are seeking an Email Marketing Manager to expand, cultivate, and effectively communicate with current and prospective customers through development and implementation of strategic email campaigns. The best candidate for this role will have a strong background in email marketing strategy, segmentation, personalization and analytics. This role plays a critical function in lead cultivation and customer nurturing, driving increased engagement and conversion. Collaboration is key as this position supports brand awareness and product sales, creating meaningful touchpoints among different audience segments, including Sales, Agronomy, Product Marketing, Customer Experience and the company as a whole.
The Email Marketing Manager plays a critical role on the Corporate Marketing team, reporting to the VP of Corporate Marketing and Communications. Preference for hybrid candidates in Emeryville, CA, but well qualified remote candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Lead the email marketing strategy and lifecycle program to activate, engage and retain customers
- Manage entirety of lifecycle campaigns including developing strategy, partnering with key stakeholders, gathering assets and copy, tracking and reporting
- Work closely with the Director of Content to outline engaging content that will improve conversions and increases engagement
- Own all email and SMS marketing deployment, targeting different audience segments including row crop farmers and ag retailers
- Work with our lead designer and agency partners to develop branded templates that showcase content, imagery and videos in an audience-appealing way
- Proactively monitor, analyze and report on campaign effectiveness and implement ways to improve email performance
- Work closely with Sales and Product Marketing teams to understand business priorities and generate supportive timely content
- Ensure compliance with email marketing laws and regulations
- Work closely with Revenue Operations to build out and maintain appropriate campaign attribution and CRM strategies
- Ensure content is optimized and mobile-friendly

Targeted Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in email marketing, leading strategic campaign initiatives that support sales goals
- Familiarity with CRM systems; SalesForce preferred
- Experience with Pardot Marketing Automation
- A combination of creative and analytical skills and a commitment to quality and accuracy, including adherence to brand standards
- Passion for well-designed visual and written communications
- Understanding of agricultural and the mindset of farmers and ag retailers a plus
- Self starter with strong project ownership, and interest in working in a fast moving, high impact startup
- Proven ability to discover, scope, and deliver creative solutions to meet customer needs
