Embedded Firmware Engineer

What you'll do:

"Eaton - MTL has an opening for a Embedded Firmware engineer. This position will be based in Chennai, India.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing firmware for Instrumentation application installed in hazardous area. He/She should follow the firmware development process. He/She should be able to understand detailed requirements by interacting with cross-functional teams. He/She should have strong skills in Debugging sustain products."

Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and maintain embedded firmware
Understand the product/system requirements
Design and develop documents for high level and detailed design

Develop test plan and procedures to validate firmware
Interact with cross functional teams to optimize product design requirements
Perform functional testing / verification

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronics & Communication / Instrumentation Engineering
2 years of experience in firmware design and development

Skills:

"Proficient in Embedded C with low-level embedded software design and development including board bring-up testing and debugging.
Experience in developing firmware for any microcontrollers.
Strong Firmware troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of digital communication protocols such as UART (RS232 & RS485), I2C, SPI.
Experience in using common development tools, IDE, compilers & debuggers.
Good at writing comprehensive technical design documentation.
Knowledge of Version Control system using Git"
