Embedded Software Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs design, coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process.
- Regularly offers solutions to significant technical problems.
- Recognized as an emerging authoritative expert in the field of Software Engineering, with wide versatility of experience and capability.
- May act as a mentor to junior level software engineers.
- May interact with external customers in order to facilitate the completion of projects to customer specifications.
Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other equivalent ABET accredited Engineering program and 6+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience in project leadership.
MUST HAVE
- Knowledge of complex software engineering architecture, design, coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting techniques, across all phases of an application development lifecycle.
- Contributes to complex technical and business aspects of a project, with latitude for independent action and decision making.
- Ability to assume a team lead role for the work group.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or approved technical field from an ABET accredited institution.
- Six (6) or more years of related work experience.
- U.S. Citizenship needed to obtain and maintain US Dept. of Energy "Q"-level security clearance
- Refining/negotiating requirements
WE VALUE
- Experience with device drivers and HW/SW integration
- Demonstrated experience in software languages including VB.NET, C#.NET
- Demonstrated experience with National Instruments Labview and Test Stand Software
- Demonstrated experience in project leadership.
- Demonstrated technical innovation and problem solving
- Significant experience in a design environment
- Ability to work without supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision making
- Existing DOE Q clearance
