Embedded Software Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs design, coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the application development process.
• Regularly offers solutions to significant technical problems.
• Recognized as an emerging authoritative expert in the field of Software Engineering, with wide versatility of experience and capability.
• May act as a mentor to junior level software engineers.
• May interact with external customers in order to facilitate the completion of projects to customer specifications.

Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other equivalent ABET accredited Engineering program and 6+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience in project leadership.

MUST HAVE

• Knowledge of complex software engineering architecture, design, coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting techniques, across all phases of an application development lifecycle.
• Contributes to complex technical and business aspects of a project, with latitude for independent action and decision making.
• Ability to assume a team lead role for the work group.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or approved technical field from an ABET accredited institution.
• Six (6) or more years of related work experience.
• U.S. Citizenship needed to obtain and maintain US Dept. of Energy "Q"-level security clearance
• Refining/negotiating requirements

• Experience with device drivers and HW/SW integration
• Demonstrated experience in software languages including VB.NET, C#.NET
• Demonstrated experience with National Instruments Labview and Test Stand Software
• Demonstrated experience in project leadership.
• Demonstrated technical innovation and problem solving
• Significant experience in a design environment
• Ability to work without supervision, with latitude for independent action and decision making
• Existing DOE Q clearance
