Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector (NGMS) is seeking multiple applicants for a career in embedded software development and maintenance, responsible for designing and implementing software solutions for a broad range of embedded applications. Assignments may include development of software functional components, algorithms, device controllers, and graphical user interfaces. Assignments may involve any or all phases of software development requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, integration, acceptance testing and customer support.
Successful applicant must have strong language skills in C++ and or Python with Object Oriented Analysis/Design development experience in either Windows 10 Visual Studio or Linux embedded development environments. Ability to work in a collaborative Agile software development team environment with continuous integration and test frameworks a must. Ability to work with embedded computer hardware and communications equipment is required. Assignments may involve leading small development teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Ability to work as a leader of an Agile Scrum Team in Jira.
This position is located in Annapolis, MD but may involve travel to other NG locations and/or Government locations within the U.S.

Salary Range: $96,600.00 - $144,900.00Salary Range 2: $119,784.00 - $179,676.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to basepay. - Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 5 years of software engineering experience (3 years for MS degree, 0 years for PhD)
- Experience in software development using C++ and/or Python
- Experience in developing software on Windows and/or Linux Operating systems
- Ability to lead Agile Scrum Team
- Ability to travel
- Active US Security Clearance at a TS/SCI Level
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Level:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 9+ years of software engineering experience (7 years for MS degree, 4 years for PhD)
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, and GitHub
- Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance is required
- Experience in software development using C++ and/or Python
- Experience in developing software on Windows and/or Linux Operating systems
- Ability to lead Agile Scrum Team.
- Ability to travel
- Active US Security Clearance at a TS/SCI Level
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, and GitHub
- Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance is required
- MS degree in STEM discipline
- Experience in developing in C++, python and scripting languages
- Strong testing/debugging skills
- Experience with leading software development teams including cost and schedule management
- Embedded software system development
- Experience with sonar or other digital signal processing systems and applications
