Embedded SPM Software Engineer III

We are currently seeking aEmbedded SPM Software Engineer III to join the Konami Gaming team! Come be part of our skilled engineers who will primarily focus on the SYNKROS Progressive Management (SPM) feature. SPM provides casinos with functionality to manage slot machine progressives. You will also be involved with other SYNKROS features as time permits.

TheEmbedded SPM Software Engineer III requires extensive C and C++ programming skills, ability to project a professional array of customer relation habits, and work well in a team environment to attain company and customer objectives. This position under the guidance of the Manager, Embedded Software, will work in conjunction with Quality Assurance and Software Design to develop new system features and maintain current system and industry requirements. The main objective of this role is to develop advanced software solutions and impact the successful completion of projects while utilizing agile software development methods, automation, and continuous integration.

What will you be doing?

Research and Development

• Research, design, develop, operate and maintain software components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, hardware and manufacturing requirements.
• Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development lifecycle to support the generation of high quality, sustainable engineering applications and products for long-term field use.
• Independently determines and develops approach to solutions and rarely seeks assistance from peers.
• Assist with code review from level I and level II engineers.
• Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of advance scope and complexity. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives.
• Apply advanced C or C++ experience to code new and enhanced development objectives.
• Coordinate the testing scripts, documentation and deployment schedule with the Quality Assurance, Training and Documentation departments.
• Follows and/or recommends changes to department processes and procedures and reviews software products for soundness of technical judgment and adequacy.
• Use best practices for software development, including functional specs, code reviews, revision control and unit testing
• Create and/or review development design documentation as needed.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Customer and Vendor Relations

• Interact with customers to attain feedback of the stability and reliability of systems software.
• Create and maintain solid relations.
• Interact with vendors to enhance specifications, perform interop development testing, and troubleshooting.

Team Leadership

• Provides guidance to junior developers to drive the successful completion of programs
• May function in a project leadership role on occasion

What skills and expertise do you bring to the job?

• Bachelor's Degree in related field, certification from an accreditied institution, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of extensive programming (C) experience; C++ experience would be helpful, but is not mandatory.
• Gaming industry experience highly desired.
• Experience with embedded system development and tools/
• Experience with C and C++
• Experience with Linux and gcc compiler/
• Experience with multi-threaded applications and socket APIs/
• Experience with XML, JSON, STOMP, OpenSSL/LibreSSL, and strong oral and written communication skills/
• A high degree of analytical thinking and problem-solving.
• Excellent organizational skills and an extremely high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience with Casino Management Systems, SAS/QCOM/X-Series slot machine protocols, and an understanding of technology requirements, constraints, and approaches will be highly regarded.
• Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently, verbal and written with all levels of the business.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain gaming licensure(s).
