Embedded System Developer

Mission:

Technical Marketing Engineers should provide the best possible experience for a developer using Toradex products. This should be done by providing feedback to PM and R&D while testing the products and maintaining comprehensive pieces of information, since the first contact of the customers with Toradex - using demos and informative material - through later stages of development - using our premium quality documentation.

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Technical Marketing Engineer, you will work to accelerate the time-to-market of our customers through spot-on technical resources such as documentation, demonstrations, and proofs-of-concept. You will drive our efforts to have the best self-serving support experience in the industry. You will closely collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and the rest of the marketing team.

Your responsibilities will include learning and supporting the items below:

• Create the leading Self Service Support Experience in the Industry

• Make complex technical concepts easy to understand for Toradex target customers

• Being a key stakeholder in the overall user experience of Toradex products

• Help create excitement for Toradex offerings via evangelism

• Interact with customers using our support channels

• Help scale our support by updating documentation based on direct interactions with customers.

Skills:

• Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Sciences.

• Availability to work from the Toradex Office in Campinas/SP at least 4 days a week

• Strong proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability and passion to learn new technologies, and develop skills in embedded software and hardware.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

• Good Novel Problem-Solving Skills

• Linux:

  • Experience and knowledge as a user or system administrator

  • Experience with Embedded Linux or with a Linux Development Environment

  • Previous experience/courses working with Yocto Preferred

• Developed Applications for Embedded Linux Devices

• Knowledge of common interfaces and how to use them on the software side, such as:

  • GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, MIPI-CSI, LVDS and more.

• Experience with Git and CI/CD

  • Managed (possibly jointly) a Git Repository with multiple contributors

• Able to read and comprehend schematics

• Knowledge of programming patterns and anti-patterns

• Programming languages

  • C/C++

  • Python

• Knowledge of at least one Shell Scripting Language, such as Bash or Perl

Nice to Have Skills:

• Familiarity with Docker containers
• Knowledge of Agile development concepts
• Knowledge of AI/ML, preferably on embedded devices
• Designed a working PCB from scratch either professionally or as a hobby
• Passion and skill to communicate about products and technical concepts in webinars, blogs, and talks
