Embraer Project Manager
Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Strong project management, team management and process workflow skills
- Outstanding decision-making skills, with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated abilities in planning, prioritizing, and managing multiple projects
- Ability to shift priorities and meet deadlines, while maintaining a professional demeanor, within a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Attends daily planning and shift turnover meetings
- Coordinates project details with Sales, Shop Supervisors, Quality Personnel, Team Leads and Parts Department
- Serves as Technical Project Management Specialist for Manufacturer Assigned for in work events at facility
- Reviews squawks generated and produce estimates that will be submitted for customer approval
- Submits customer approvals and facilitates parts procurement in collaboration with the Project Manager as applicable
- Monitors hours applied to the work scope to ensure alignment with proposal and estimate sheets
- Participates in the review of work orders during the maintenance event and after completion for accuracy
- Meets with customer, pre and post event, and communicates with customer throughout event
- Serves as point-of-contact for assigned and other managed events assigned to team
- Manages the maintenance updates, internally and to the customer, for all aircraft assigned
- Makes decisions based on safety, qualifications and company regulations for all technicians assigned
- Conducts employee performance reviews
- Reviews and submits employees time sheets
- Approves and submits employee paid time off
- Maintains a look-forward approach for setting up manpower, equipment and parts for the next shift
- Monitors all company e-mail traffic to help make informed decisions
- Leads a culture of continuous improvement in procedures, processes, and internal and external customer satisfaction to improve cost, schedule, and quality of processes
Skills and Qualifications:
- 10 years in the aircraft maintenance field,
- At least 5 years of experience within in Specialty Aircraft capacity
- Valid and current Airframe and Powerplant Certificate (minimum of 5 years required)
- Very good computer skills
- Ability to understand and interpret aircraft technical data.
- Effective communication in English (both orally and written)
- Ability to successfully work with others as part of a team to achieve established goals.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to be willing to work on elevated platforms (up to 40 ft in the air) using fall protection safety gear
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing repairs
- Ability to lift 70lbs or more
- Ability to operate basic hand tools and ground equipment
- Ability to work in confined spaces
Non-Physical Requirements:
- Ability to learn and use technical manuals
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems effectively
- Problem solver by effectively reading and interpreting maintenance, wiring and illustrated parts manuals
- Ability to communicate in both in writing and verbally with co-workers, customers and Jet East leadership
- Must be able to perform repairs effectively and quickly in short notice, high-pressure situations
- Must be able to input and retrieve information from computers
- Experience with Apple and Microsoft products especially Outlook, Word, and Excel spreadsheets
- Able to travel to locations, in all weather conditions, to perform repairs
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
