Emergency Medicine Physician

• Potsdam Emergency Room:
  • Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM
  • 24 hours of physician coverage and 36 hours of Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage
  • APP shifts: 8 AM - 5 PM (main ED), 5 PM - 2 AM (main ED), 10 AM - 10 PM (triage intake area)
  • 1.32 patients per hour average
  • Accepts transfers from Massena and Gouverneur
  • Handles trauma cases
• Massena Emergency Room:
  • Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM
  • 24 hours of physician coverage and 8 hours of APP coverage
  • APP shift: 1 PM - 9 PM (main ED)
  • 1.34 patients per hour average
  • Critical access hospital with generally less busy nights
• Gouverneur Emergency Room:
  • Shift: 8 AM - 8 PM or 8 PM - 8 AM
  • 1.18 patients per hour average
  • Lower acuity with less busy nights
  • Critical access hospital

• Board Eligible (BE) within 5 years of completing residency or Board Certified (BC)
• Full-time position (12 shifts per month, each 12 hours for a total of 144 hours per month)

• Compensation:
  • Massena ED: $300/hr
  • Potsdam ED: $285/hr
  • Gouverneur ED: $265/hr
  • System Physician: $315/hr (covering shifts at all three hospitals)
• Signing Bonus: $50,000 for a 2-year contract
• Student Loan Repayment:
  • Eligible for Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness and NYS DANY grant programs
• Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000
• Paid CME: $4,000 per contract year
